Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard says he's happy with the attitude with his players.

Villa have lost their last three matches, included a derby defeat at Wolves, but Gerrard says he has seen a reaction from his players this week.

"The good thing about football is the next big game is just around the corner, and I've seen the reaction that I wanted from the players," said Gerrard.

"The message is not to leave it on the training ground, let's give our supporters a performance to be proud of.

"There is always a purpose and always something to play for at Aston Villa.

"Our fans have followed us extremely well, I can't ask for any more so I demand from the players that we give them a performance to be proud of tomorrow."

Gerrard also provided a fitness update of his squad ahead of his side's game with Tottenham.

"Emi Buendía and Tyrone Mings picked up niggles against Wolves," said Gerrard.

"Tyrone trained yesterday so he's available. Emi trained today so assuming there's no reaction, he'll be available.

"Marv [Nakamba] had 60 minutes for the Under-23s last week and he had another strong week, so he'll come into the squad.

"When we came into this job, we had a bounce and found consistency, and Marv was a really big part of that.

"He's been missed and this week we have pushed him, he's an important player so when we get him ready for 90 minutes, he'll be a big help to the team."
