Companies must securely connect their distributed resources and pivot quickly as market conditions change, without compromising sustainability, in the face of supply chain interruptions and the exploding volume of data resulting from increased cloud use. Sime Darby Berhad, a Malaysian multinational with a presence across Asia-Pacific, has installed Platform Equinix® and used Network Edge to digitally change its infrastructure across the region to support its digital programme and sustainability ambitions.
"We are hopeful that the collaboration with Equinix will help us seamlessly bridge the distance between our distributed digital infrastructure throughout the region and improve agility with accelerated deployment,” commented Goh Hai Peow, Sime Darby Berhad’s Group Chief Information and Digital Officer.
Equinix, Inc. supports Sime Darby Berhad through its Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX®) data centres throughout Asia-Pacific. Sime Darby Berhad also uses Equinix's Network Edge on Equinix Fabric to enable safe and stable SD-WAN integration across markets, with the help of Equinix's technology partner Coevolve. Sime Darby Berhad may now quickly scale and adapt to external circumstances by deploying digital infrastructure as needed, obviating previous systems requiring shipment, truck roll, and capital expenditure.
Jeremy Deutsch, President, Equinix Asia-Pacific, remarks: “Our collaboration with Sime Darby Berhad sets an important precedent illustrating that businesses can be digitally competitive in the ever-shifting global landscape and do so in a sustainable way. At Equinix, our vision is to work with our customers to empower sustainable operations through digital infrastructure. As part of our commitment to the wider community, we are proud to support Sime Darby Berhad with their digital strategy across the region.”
