In most malls, there are designated places for women to park and they are named Ladies’ Parking. Usually, this female-only parking space is guarded by security personnel.

A woman by the name of Angel Xiomara on TikTok has shared her experience at the ladies’ parking space in KLCC.

I am so angry with KLCC who chose a blind eye over men parking at the female parking image is not available#dancingqueen #bachatababe

Angel says that she is a regular at the KLCC mall and she has seen men using ladies’ parking countless times.

She has confronted a man before and they said that they use the ladies’ parking just because they have a female companion in the car with them.

“Today, a load a guys entered the ladies’ parking and when a single lady came in, they couldn’t find a parking (spot) because it’s all filled up by men with wives, girlfriends.”

“Come on, Malaysians! Don’t you read signage? Can’t you understand a simple signage that says ‘female single lady driver parking only’?”

Other than that, Angel has also urged KLCC to ensure that the ladies’ parking is for ladies only.

The female netizens in the comments whole-heartedly agree with Angel and have shared their own experiences as well.

“Yes, they park in women’s only parking spaces without feeling guilt.”

However, there are some who do not see the gravity of this issue.

Well, just a few weeks back, a few women were sexually harassed in the parking space of a building in Cyberjaya. A few months back in December, 2 instances of sexual assault (here and here) were reported in parking spaces as well.

If we want to trace it further back, the abduction of Canny Ong (this link contains potential triggers regarding sexual assault, click at your own risk) in 2003 was in a parking lot.

In Angel’s newest video, KLCC has taken it upon themselves to put the “SINGLE FEMALE DRIVER ONLY” signage everywhere.

We certainly hope that more malls will be able to conduct proper enforcement on females-only parking spaces.
