BigPay has finally enabled support for DuitNow functions on its app, allowing users to tap into the convenience of DuitNow QR and DuitNow Transfer for payments or fund transfers.
To access both the DuitNow features, make sure to update your BigPay app to the latest version. Once it’s updated, you will be able to find both DuitNow QR and DuitNow Transfer under the Payments tab, as well as your DuitNow account number in your Profile page.
With DuitNow QR on BigPay, you can now use the app to scan DuitNow QR codes when making purchases from merchants. If you’ve linked your airasia rewards account to your BigPay account, you’ll also be able to earn 3x airasia points for every transaction made. These points can then be used to redeem perks and rewards on the airasia super app. Do note that there is a daily limit of RM10,000 for DuitNow QR payments that you can make to merchants.
Meanwhile, those looking to transfer money conveniently can tap into the DuitNow QR peer-to-peer transfer (P2P) or DuitNow Transfer function on BigPay. These fund transfers can be made instantly to and from BigPay with any local banks and e-wallets that are also part of the DuitNow ecosystem. All you need to do is key in the recipient’s DuitNow ID, which could be his or her MyKad or passport number, or mobile number. For these two transfer functions, there will be a combined daily limit of RM30,000.
If any of your DuitNow ID is currently assigned to another e-wallet or banking app, and you’d like to switch it to BigPay, you can make the change easily under Settings:
- Tap on “DuitNow”, after which you’ll be able to view your DuitNow ID and the banking app or e-wallet that it is linked to
- Tap on “Switch to BigPay”
- Key in your one-time PIN (OTP) to complete the process
BigPay had first first announced its inclusion in the DuitNow ecosystem almost two years ago, and originally intended to launch the DuitNow QR payment feature in the second quarter of 2021.
