Kota Kinabalu: The GRS-BN State Government on Wednesday urged the Federal Government through the Transport Ministry to look into reducing airfares for domestic flights.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also State Finance Minister, said the airfares have increased to the extent they are burdening the people who have to fly to Kuala Lumpur from Sabah or vice versa.
He said the State Cabinet discussed the matter during its weekly meeting Wednesday and viewed the exorbitant airfare hike seriously.
