Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has taken a swipe at Louis van Gaal after the Dutchman's criticism this week.
Holland coach and former United manager Van Gaal has urged Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to swerve the Old Trafford, branding them a "commercial club".
In response, Rangnick declared: "I think in football worldwide, and certainly in the Premier League, where any rich person or company can buy a club, it is a commercial business. That's a fact.
"But all I can tell you from the last four months is that this is a club with a huge tradition and a close relationship with the fans, the city and the region. I don't see anything negative in that. If this was aimed at something else within the club, I don't know."
Rangnick then openly questioned Van Gaal's decision to join United in 2014.
"Louis is an experienced coach, and if he has this opinion, he should have known it in advance," added the German.
