Leicester City and Roma played out a hard fought 1-1 draw in their Europa Conference League semi-final first leg on Thursday.

The Foxes dominated the second-half in front of their supporters and Brendan Rodgers will be disappointed that his side are not taking a lead to Rome next week.

However it was Jose Mourinho's side who took the lead after 15 minutes through Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Played in by Nicola Zalewski, the inspiring Roma captain finished smoothly under Kasper Schmeichel.

But the home side weren't rattled and they eased themselves into control before finally equalising after 67 minutes, albeit fortuitously through a Gianluca Mancini own goal.

Speaking after the game, Rodgers said his side dominated proceedings and should take confidence heading to the Stadio Olimpico.

"We know we can travel and get the job done," Rodgers said in his post-match press conference.

"I said to the players afterwards, there were no signs of nerves, there was quality in our football. We have no fear, we can go to Rome and play to that level.

"We have a fantastic chance to get to the final. Playing against a good team and a top manager, we really dominated the game. I'm really pleased."
