Ramadan: breaking of fast at surau, mosques to be allowed in Johor

BATU PAHAT – To further enliven the month of Ramadan in the state, the Johor government will allow breaking of fast events to be held at surau and mosques.

State Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said, however, that attendance is limited to 50 people for each event.

The management of the mosques and surau must provide packed food for the congregants if there are more than 50 people at an event, he said, after performing terawih prayers at Masjid Parit Besar Semerah last night.

Fared added that bubur lambuk distribution programme at mosques and surau areas will also be allowed, but cooking activities remain prohibited. – Bernama, April 3, 2022
