Cesar Azpilicueta's Chelsea contract is continuing to run down.
The Blues captain, reports Sport, has not had his contract extended, contrary to previous reports.
It was claimed Azpilicueta's deal had been extended 12 months courtesy of an option on Chelsea's side.
However, despite the Spaniard reaching the set number of games to trigger the clause, Chelsea haven't acted.
As such, the prospect of Azpilicueta leaving for Barcelona as a free agent is now gathering pace.
