
SIPITANG: A teacher was scammed of RM254,600 by individuals posing as officials from the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) and police – despite police advising the public never to entertain calls requiring them to disclose their personal and banking details.
The teacher lodged report at 12.42pm on March 31 claiming to have received a call from an unknown number between March 14 and March 16 at 2pm while at a secondary school here, according to District Police Chief Champin Piuh.
