The UK government want to see Chelsea's new owners cut loose chairman Bruce Buck and managing director Marina Granovskaia.

The warning was delivered by Julian Knight, chairman of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

Knight says the pair are too close to sanctioned owner Roman Abramovich.

He told the Financial Times: "Any continuity with the Abramovich regime at Chelsea is certainly an unsettling development.

"There needs to be clarity surrounding the process to ensure that everything is being done to the letter."
