Kota Kinabalu: The registration period for the new prepaid internet package, specifically for teenagers and students has been extended Oct 31.

Secretary -General of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek said through the Malaysian Family Youth Package, students, including graduates, can gain internet access for online learning without any data constraints.

“Students can take advantage of 20 GB of data for three months with only RM10/month (paid for three months/RM30) for daily productivity activities as well as unlimited basic internet.

“With this package, students can do activities such as sending messages and surfing the internet.

“20 GB of data can be used for activities such as downloading videos or online games and helps users to relax with access to entertainment.

“Included in this package is 1 GB of daily data (90 GB for three months) free for productivity activities,” he said during an interview on Sabahfm Bagus Bah.

According to him, teenagers and students under the age of 21 only need to register using their MyKad while students over the age of 21 need to register with a student card.

He hoped that the group would be able to take advantage of the facilities and launch their learning and daily affairs.

However, the package is subject to the terms and conditions set by the mobile service supervisor involved, namely

Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom), Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi), Maxis Berhad (Maxis), U Mobile Sdn Bhd (U Mobile), Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES).
