Kota Kinabalu: Kadazan, Dusun, Murut, and Rungus raconteurs are people who excel in propagating their communities’ oral tradition including folklores, legends, old folks’ tales, beliefs, values, etc fluently that entertains and educates.
This year’s State level Harvest Festival celebration organising chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who is the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries officiated at the finals of ‘Manangon’ (telling story or folklore to entertain or educate or inculcate values) and ‘Monusuyan’ digital competition (telling anecdotes of real life or historical accounts like the Oath Stone or Tamparuli Bridge etc).
