Tottenham have received a boost in their quest to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The centre-half was watched by Spurs scouts during Villarreal's Champions League clashes against Liverpool recently.
According to the Daily Mail, Torres has a buy out clause set at £55 million and wants to leave Villarreal this summer.
He has also been linked to Manchester United in the past.
For his part, the 25-year-old would only move to a club in the Champions League, and may be reluctant to leave Spain in a World Cup year.
Josko Gvardiol of Red Bull Leipzig is another target for Spurs, as Antonio Conte looks to refresh his back line.
