32 schools to benefit from ‘Science, Innovation Corner’

Kota Kinabalu: The Science Technology and Innovation (KSTI) Ministry took initiatives to strengthen the field of science in schools, said its Minister Datuk Yakub Khan.

“A total of 32 schools throughout Sabah will receive donations starting with 10 schools around Kota Kinabalu invited to attend today.

“This contribution is expected to help schools create a ‘Science and Innovation Corner’ as well as upgrade existing laboratories to launch the learning system.

“Besides that, it is also a sign of KSTI’s support to schools in Sabah in an effort to strengthen the field of Science, Technology and Innovation,” he said while addressing the KSTI 2022 Kaamatan-Hari Raya celebration at his office, Friday.

Yakub handed over donations to three secondary schools for the School Science Laboratory Upgrading Programme, namely SMAN Toh Puan Hajah Rahmah, SMK Badin Tuaran and SMKA Tun Ahmadshah.

Meanwhile, for the Science and Innovation Corner programme, a total of seven primary schools received contributions, including SK Inanam II, SK Tobobon, SK Gudon, SK Lok Yuk Inanam, SK Kebayau, SK Darau and SK Pengiran Siti Hafsah

Also present were KSTI Permanent Secretary Zainudin Aman, Deputy Permanent Secretary II Henry Idol and Institute of Development Studies Chief Executive Officer Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Ramzah Dambul.
