Kota Kinabalu: A book to raise awareness of sexual abuse against disabled women and children published in the peninsula has been made available in Kadazan language.
The book, titled “Kada'” ka di Sara, was produced by NGO Women’s Centre for Change (WCC) in Penang and written by Prema E. Devaraj while Rita Lasimbang and Rosecilla Bisius translated it into Kadazan.
WCC announced the Kadazan version of the book on Twitter Monday, saying it tells a story of sexual abuse against a character in the book named “Sara” and how she gets help.
“Sexual abuse can happen to disabled children too,” WCC said.
In another tweet, the NGO said sexual disturbance can occur anywhere, including on public transport.
“Be careful and aware of people’s behaviour around you on public transport,” WCC advised.
