TAWAU: Two local skippers in two cargo boats were arrested after they were found loading 27 units of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) without permit.
Tawau Maritime Zone Director, Captain Shahrizan Raman said the 49 and 55-year-old skippers were detected moving together around 5.15pm in a suspicious manner.
“The boats were moving from Sg Tawau towards Sebatik Island and the maritime team during Ops Sejahtera intercepted the boats for inspection.
