Joachim proposes Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd expand to Sabah

LABUAN: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam proposed to Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (ASB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the State Government based here, to expand its operations to Sabah.

Joachim, who is also Sabah Industrial Development Minister, made the suggestion during his working visit to the company at the Ranca-Ranca Industrial Area, here, Saturday. The visit was made in conjunction with his three-day working visit to the island.

The Deputy Chief Minister and his entourage were welcomed by ASB Chairman Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman and ASB staff.

Joachim and his entourage were briefed by the company’s Chief Operating Officer David Teo. The purpose of the briefing was to provide a more in-depth explanation on activities involving ASB services for the gas and oil industry.

Also present were Assistant Industrial Development Minister Mohd Tamin Zainal, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Thomas Logijin and his Deputy Benedick Bisoni, Sabah Department of Industrial Development and Research (DIDR) Director Tseu Kei Yue, Board of Directors (BOD) member Datuk Peter Mak and other senior ministry officials.
