SG PETANI – Police have classified the death of a 21-year-old unemployed man from Taman Keladi here who fell off a building at Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital here on May 23 as “sudden death”.
Kuala Muda district police chief Zaidy Che Hassan said this in a statement today concerning the 6.25pm incident.
He said the deceased was admitted to the ward on Monday at about 3.30pm.
He was suspected of having dengue fever, and was accompanied by his mother when he was warded.
“A patient who was an eyewitness to the incident said the deceased went to the ward’s bathroom. He knocked his head against the window, leading to a serious wound on his head.
“Another eyewitness said that the deceased went out of the Bunga Raya 2 ward and jumped off the eight-storey block.
“The deceased’s mother said that her late son had no debts nor any misunderstandings with anyone. She explained that he was not normal before the incident,” said Zaidy.
Furthermore, police also found that the victim was not being treated for dengue fever but for asthma.
