
PENAMPANG: Two men aged 45 and 46 were injured and trapped in their vehicle after it skidded and crashed on the road shoulder at a roundabout in Donggongon, here, Saturday.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Misran Bisara said the Penampang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received a call at 9.26am and dispatched seven firefighters, a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle led by PBK operation commander II Winson Walafred to the scene.
According to the operation commander, a Toyota Vios was believed to have lost control before crashing on the road shoulder, trapping the two victims, in it.
“The rescue team successfully extricated the victims and sent them to the hospital,” he said.
The operation ended at 9.47am.
