Everton midfielder Mason Holgate says goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was key to their win at Leicester City.

Holgate struck in the 2-1 win, which lifts Everton out of the dropzone.

He later said, "It doesn't change what we said before the game, we need to take each game as it comes. We're in a better position than we were 90 minutes ago. We've got to keep going forward and winning games.

"It's always going to be difficult way from home, but the courage and belief in the team got the reward. It's all about winning games at this point in the season. It's not about individuals at this point, it's about the team and pushing forward. We've done well going forward and defended as a team.

"Jordan's [Pickford] made a few big saves and he's done that in the past few games and we need our big players to step up for us."

On the relegation fight, he added: "It's not a position we really want to be in and playing for, but the fans have been great, we need to keep going forward. We've always had the confidence to stay up. We can't get carried away, we've got to keep going until the end of the season."
