Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has urged Dutch football to forgive Marc Overmars.
Ten Hag worked alongside former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars at Ajax helping to build a talented young team.
Overmars left the Eredivise champions back in February.
This came as a result of sending a series of "inappropriate messages" to female colleagues.
However, Ten Hag categorically stated that he believes Overmars could still have a future at Ajax.
As reported by newspaper Het Parool, he said: "If Johan Derksen can return to TV, Overmars can return to Ajax."
Ten Hag added: "We humans are in this world to help each other and not to shoot each other.
"I have said many times: this championship is also his championship. We built this team together.
"After the game against Heerenveen, I also congratulated Marc with the title via text.'"
