Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer says they won't budge on their contract policy for Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski wants to move to Barcelona after being unimpressed by Bayern's latest contract offer - including the length of deal tabled.

Hainer told Tz: "Why don't we offer long-term contracts to players over 30? Because it would block money for a long time, which we could not invest in young players.

"On the other hand, we also want to be fair to our veteran players and say, 'Extend for a year, and hopefully we'll talk again'.

"We also need flexibility."

The Pole, 33, will see his contract with Bayern Munich expire in June 2023.
