PKR polls: Fahmi Zainol, Rodziah overtake contenders in Johor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah

KUALA LUMPUR – Fahmi Zainol and Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail have overtaken their contenders Adam Adli and Senator Fadhlina Sidek for the PKR Youth and women’s top posts, respectively, after votes from five states were tabulated.

Fahmi and Rodziah took the lead in Johor, Negri Sembilan, and Kedah, although the other two got more votes in Selangor and Melaka.

In Johor’s 26 divisions, Fahmi edged over former youth activist Adam with only 200 votes after gaining a total of 647 versus Adam’s 447. Rodziah gathered 1,327 ballots as opposed to Fadhlina’s 319.

In Negri Sembilan, Fahmi gained 988 votes, and Adli trailed with 627, while Rodziah had a comfortable lead over Fadhlina with 1,740 votes instead of the latter’s 956.

Over in Kedah, Fahmi had a narrow lead over Adam with 691 votes, as opposed to the latter’s 605. Rodziah, on the other hand, gained 1,746 votes in the state, while Fadhlina had only garnered 859.

Earlier, Adam and Fadhlina had a narrow lead in Selangor and Melaka.

In Selangor, Adam held a slim lead with 6,086 votes over contender Fahmi’s 4,629, and again in Melaka with 514 votes as opposed to Fahmi’s 356.

Meanwhile, Fadhlina – the daughter of Muslim Youth Movement Malaysia founder Siddiq Fadzil – had led with 10,155 votes versus Rodziah’s 9,142.

Similarly, Fadhlina has also won in Melaka with a total of 779 votes against Rodziah’s 628.

In total, Selangor has 22 divisions, while Melaka has six. – The Vibes, May 29, 2022
