In the recent debate between Najib and Anwar, one of the most controversial moments during the debate was when Najib stated his devotion to Malaysians by saying “Cash is King, King is rakyat”. The statement immediately went viral and is mocked fun by many.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the fourth and seventh Prime minister of the country, is quick to comment on the matter. According to Tun M, Najib’s statement is nothing but lies and by saying that “Cash is King, King is Rakyat”, Najib sounds like a crazy person to him.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad sounds firm in his comment on this matter and he once again reminds Malaysians that Najib had countless times lied to Malaysians including at Dewan Rakyat.
According to Tun M, he wonders why Najib was given a place to lie and he debates like he was insane. He said does Najib expect the people to be called ‘His Majesty’? He also reminded that before, Najib wasn’t ashamed when he was caught embezzling money as according to Najib, he was the boss, and stealing is okay for the boss.
Najib had also stated in Parliament that the government doesn’t need to pay a single sen of debt, where in truth, Malaysia pay billions of Ringgit of debts.
“Najib clearly wants to be Prime Minister, and he expects that if UMNO wins, he will be forgiven again,” Dr Mahathir added. “Now everyone wants to be Prime Minister again, even Tan Sri Muhyiddin wants to be Prime Minister again,” said Tun M.
On Monday, Tun M said this at a press conference following the Langkawi Parliament’s Hari Raya Banquet at Dataran Telaga Walk.
Dr Mahathir was responding to a statement made by Najib during the successful Prime Minister’s Debate on the cash is king strategy established by the Pekan Member of Parliament while leading the country as the sixth Prime Minister last Thursday.
