Newcastle striker Callum Wilson is happy to be back in action.
Eddie Howe's side fell 5-0 to a rampant Manchester City on Sunday.
But one positive for the Magpies was the return of Wilson and right-back Kieran Trippier, who have both missed extensive time in 2022 due to severe injuries. And Wilson revealed his elation at returning to the pitch in black and white at the Etihad.
"It was nice, it was so nice," said Wilson on BBC Sport.
"City away is never an easy one to come back to, but this is the Premier League, no game is easy so it was nice to be back out there, come on a bit later on in the game. We were 3-0 down at that time and it was all just about trying to help the team get back into the game. Tried to do that...should have done that!
"I've worked on the pitch for the last seven weeks doing all my fitness stuff and I felt in a really good place. I felt if needed I could have started the game. That's where you have to give credit to the sports science guys. They work hard behind the scenes."
