KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian Liverpool fans were quick to snag all 2,250 tickets within four days of being offered for a live viewing event for the Uefa Champions League (UCL) final against Spanish giants Real Madrid at KL Gateway Mall this May 28.
Hosted by MJ Event Management in collaboration with the Liverpool Fan Club Malaysia, the event will take place at the Central Piazza of KL Gateway Mall, Kuala Lumpur at 10.30pm, with the match scheduled to kick-off at 3am.
Ticket holders will be able to watch the final on a giant LED screen and stand a chance to win the grand lucky draw prize of an all-paid trip to watch an LFC match at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool worth more than RM12,000.
Two tickets for the LFC v Crystal Palace pre-season friendly match in Singapore on July 15 will also be up for grabs.
Besides the live coverage of the match with fans singing LFC chants, activities such as lucky draws, comments from Malaysian footballing legend and LFC fan Datuk M. Karathu, an LFC trivia session and official LFC highlight videos will be played as a run-up to the main event.
This will be the second time the event management company has hosted a UCL final live viewing at the same venue, with the previous one being for the 2019 edition between LFC and Tottenham Hotspur FC.
The 2019 event saw a total turnout of 2,300 at the venue to watch LFC win 2-0 to lift the most prestigious trophy in European club football.
This May 28, the increase in attendance comes as LFC has already won two trophies this season – the Carabao Cup and the English FA Cup – and fans anticipate the club winning the UCL title for the seventh time.
Fans attending the event will also have the opportunity to foster a better relationship with other LFC fans, with some travelling from all over the country, even from East Malaysia and neighbouring Singapore.
Attendees are reminded to adhere to the SOPs set by the Health Ministry throughout the event. – The Vibes, May 26, 2022
