Walter Mazzarri has been sacked by Cagliari.
Cagliari sit 17th in the Serie A table, only three points ahead of relegation candidates Genoa. Their remaining games of the season are against Salernitana on May 8, Inter on May 15 and Venezia on May 22.
Mazzarri joined Cagliari in September and won only six of his 32 league matches.
The dismissal could be set for a legal fight as speculation suggests there's a clause in Mazzarri's contract that automatically extends it to 2024 should he be sacked with the team outside the bottom three.
