Kota Kinabalu: The official launch of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has been postponed to this Saturday (May 28).

This new political coalition in Sabah comprising five parties, namely Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sabah, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Solidarity Tanah Airku (Star), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and its newest member Sabah United National Organisation (Usno), was initially announced to be officially launched today (May 26).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also GRS Chairman, said the launch date has been changed because “we were looking for the most suitable time for it (the launch).

“That’s the only reason (for the postponement),” he told reporters when asked about the matter when met after he attended the Sawit Kinabalu Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at Magellan Sutera, here, Wednesday.

The launch this Saturday will be held at the same venue, the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here, at 10am.

Hajiji is also Chairman of Sawit Kinabalu Sdn Bhd, a premier investment arm of the State Government in the oil palm industry.

Rural Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim, State Secretary Datuk Seri Sr Safar Untong and Sawit Kinabalu Group Managing Director Datuk Bacho Jansie, among others, were also present.
