PAPAR: Jaidijah Jaidi was named champion at the district-level Sugandoi Kaamatan singing competition on Sunday night.
Jaidijah mesmerised the audience and judges with her voice after performing Hiti Noh Maso Ku and Bulangou during the final stage of the contest against four other participants.
Meanwhile, first-runner up was bagged by Joel Moikon who performed Huminodun and Ginavo Nosinduahan while songs entitled Iziau Noh Daa and Kotumbayahai Noh Dogo sang by Alexander Junior Eson won him the third place in the competition.
At the same event, 15 finalists for the Papar Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan (UNK) lit the stage with their best attire for the UNK Gala Night.
One of the finalist, Milka Bonong was crowned the night Bazad-bazad Osuau (Miss Congeniality).
Alongside her was Verollia Ho Li Len who was crowned Bazad-bazad Gaun Ohidang (Miss Best Dress) while Esther Marius won the Bazad-bazad Osongon (Miss Natural Beauty) title.
The 15 participants will face off at the District Level UNK in which three of them will be representing Papar.
The other participants were Melonie George Gawis, Vinalyn Atom Jonnik, Lyonna Rozanne Roger, Woni Andrea, Sharlene Adelaide Alexandra, Avila Jane Mujim, Recelme Mc Colen Michael, Rosalina Junim, Vyolla Debra Isidore, Viviern Angel Bernard, Fenny Binjamis and Michelle Dulin.
