Valencia released a statement yesterday, denying media claims of having agreed to sell Soler to Barca.
However, Sport says a deal could yet happen this summer, with Barca in contact with the midfielder.
Soler is keen on the move, though knows any move can only happen if Barca can shift out several fringe players.
In their statement, VCF had declared talks over a new deal had opened, but it's suggested Soler won't commit to a new agreement as Valencia's offer falls short of expectations.
