Kota Kinabalu: Maxmalcom Symand from DMD Gym Menggatal won the Open title in the bodybuilding competition organised by Star Sabah Sports and Recreation Bureau at the Datuk Guandee Kohoi Hall, Sokid Villa in Bukit Padang on Saturday.
He took home the RM3,000 cash prize and in second place was Suahili Topin from JL Fitness Gym Keningau who received RM2,000 while third spot and RM1,500 went to Mark Muscle Penampang’s Heldy Joseph.
In the Novice category, Superoom Gym Putatan’s Alistair Dylan George came top to win RM1,500 followed by Heldy Joseph from Mark Muscle Gym Penampang and Julian David from DMD Gym, Superoom Gym Putatan while the Women Physique’s title and RM1,000 cash prize was won by Lily Nur Izzaty from Justin Sompong Gym with second and third place going to Syarifah Atikah of Mark Muscle Gym and Justin Sompong Gym’s Julita Masalan respectively.
Organising chairman Matiu Jungkim said the closing ceremony was officiated by Star Sabah Vice President Feddrin Tuliang representing Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Jeffery Kitingan and also present was Sabah Bodybuilding Association President Joannes Staneslaus.
