The Senegal international, now entering the veteran stage at 30 years of age, is ready to make a big club move away this summer.
Koulibaly has emerged as a target for Barcelona this week, though Area Napoli reports United are also ready to move for the stopper.
Koulibaly's agent Fali Ramadani, in addition to Chelsea, is also in contact with United.
The price tag is said to be €35m - which is deemed too rich for Barcelona due to their financial problems.
