Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Parks and Sri Pelancongan Sabah Sdn Bhd teamed up to organise the Asia Parks Virtual Fun Cycle 2022 from May 28 until June 28 this year in conjunction with the Asia Parks Congress 2022.

Chairman of Sabah Parks Sport & Social Club, Roslizan Sallin, said the aim of the event is to celebrate the wonders of Sabah Parks’ protected parks or any national park (in Malaysia or internationally), as well as to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

“Many people have now turned to cycling as a means of a hobby or exercise. This virtual cycle is a fun activity for you to complete at your own pace, time, and convenience. You can finish the race anytime within one month from Saturday (May 28).

“The participants are required to cycle a minimum distance of 50 kilometres to maximum distance of 70 kilometres within a month during the event period, which can be done collectively or simultaneously and send a proof through applications such as Strava and Garmin Sports.

“In order to fulfil its main objective, cyclists must also submit a ‘selfie’ (with bicycle) at any hill, Sabah Parks area, National Parks in Malaysia or International National Parks and post the picture to the selected social media designated by the organiser.

“Special prizes which include a North Edge N102 smartwatch and Wireless Earphone Loca 22 will be given to the “best cycling time duration + distance” and the “best selfie” winners, respectively,” she said.

Those can register on hellosabah.com with fees of RM130 for Malaysians and RM200 for non-Malaysians.
