Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s caseload continued to rise to 56 on Thursday from 42 the day earlier with 11 districts recording an increase, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
Among districts that recorded a rise are Kota Kinabalu (+5), Putatan (+5), Beaufort (+5), Sandakan (+4) and Sipitang (+2).
“More districts recorded a rise, only seven districts recorded a decrease. Thirteen districts did not record any new cases, compared to 17 the day before,” he said in a statement, Thursday, adding no deaths or new clusters were identified.
He said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 25 cases, followed by Papar (6), Beaufort (5), Putatan (5), Sandakan (4), Sipitang (2) and Tuaran (2).
He added that 67.86 per cent of cases were sporadic while 14.29 per cent were close contacts.
Masidi said 54 out of 56 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was each recorded in category three and five. No category four infections were recorded.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, he said 1,640 individuals took their vaccines on May 18, of which 525 were adults, 65 teenagers and 1,050 children.
