KFC is among the most popular fast-food chains in Malaysia, and almost every day, you would know a friend or two dining in or tapau their meals there. It’s simply convenient, easy to eat and at a reasonable price. However, recently, KFC has struck an ongoing controversy among the netizens, in which there are tonnes of complaints about the serving of the KFC’s chicken being too small.
This is not the first time that KFC Malaysia has been reported to have under-size chicken meat serving, but things have really gotten out of hand recently. Netizens are still complaining about receiving their fried chicken in extremely unreasonable sizes. Netizens started to rant on Facebook by sharing their pictures of the size of the fried chicken they received and compared them with random items, such as a lighter, ketchup sachets and even the spoon from which the mashed potatoes come with!
The size of the chicken is one thing, the amount of meat and protein one can actually get is another. That being said, should we give KFC the benefit of the doubt, given that not only Malaysia but the whole world are currently facing a chicken supply shortage problem?
Due to the overwhelming demand for chicken meat globally, some companies have taken this golden opportunity to export most of our local chicken meats over to other countries at a higher price. This is very apparent with other essential goods as well. To counter this issue, the Malaysian government decided to halt the exportation of 3.6 million chickens a month starting on 1 June.
To date, KFC has yet to respond to any of these remarks. So, what do you think? Should KFC be forgiven due to the mentioned global crisis over chicken shortage, or should they be held responsible for serving their fried chicken without doing quality control? Comment down below about what you think!
