Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde says their spirit was key to victory over Manchester City in their Champions League semifinal.
Valverde paid tribute to the Bernabeu fans for roaring them on.
He said, "Another mad night. The spirit and the will to win... we keep going to the end. When City scored, it felt like everything was falling apart – all that effort and fight in every round, it felt lost. But the fans were a big help for us to keep fighting to the end. When the goals go in, you think 'We're going to win today'.
"Every team – Paris, Chelsea, City – was very good. I think personally, the game we suffered most in was against Chelsea.
"Every time they came into our half, it was a half-chance to them."
