AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has had his Serie A winner's medal stolen.

Pioli lost his medal during the celebrations after victory at Sassuolo on Sunday.

“Someone has stolen the winner's medal, somebody stripped it from my neck. If I could make an appeal, I'd be grateful, it's the only one I have," he said, according to La Repubblica.

The Lega Serie A saw the appeal and came to his rescue, promising via Twitter: “Don't worry Mr Pioli, we'll give you the medal again tomorrow."

It is Milan's first Scudetto in 11 years, the 19th in the club's history.
