“Selamat pengantin baru Datuk Seri (Congratulations for being a newlywed Datuk Seri),” announced BERSATU Youth Chief, Wan Fayhsal on Najib’s Facebook page on 18 May was reported by The Vibes on 19 May and Kini TV on the same day.

Speculations have been quite rife lately about Najib’s love life. However, this is the first time someone dares go public on social media to confirm the rumour complete with a photograph.

Anyway, everyone on the rumour mill would have seen the photograph mounted by Wan Ahmad on Najib’s Facebook page but were reluctant to go public.

It features Najib with a woman clutching his arm flanked by youngsters in what appears to be a family photo. Some say those could be members of the family of his new wife. But we cannot confirm for sure.

BERSATU Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad’s comment had attracted attention with hundreds of responses from other Facebook users.

But many had also condemned Wan Ahmad for using Najib’s story as a publicity stunt to gain support for himself in an internal party polls.

At the time of writing, there is yet no response from Najib or his cyber troopers to confirm or negate the “breaking news” posting officially by Wan Ahmad.

Only KiniTV has aired a segment on the post by Wan Ahmad without confirming the wedding as being true or false.

Taking silence as a confirmation we too would like to join in the chorus of singing “Selamat Pengantin Baru” to Najib and his new bride!

But Najib had not taken her to any public function so far. In the most recent public event, Najib was still seen with his official wife Rosmah Mansor at a Hari Raya gathering hosted by the Agong himself at the National Palace.

Obviously, he is still married to Rosmah. Being a Muslim he is entitled to three more wives. If this latest marriage was really true he could still take on two more as his God-given right. So, no one should prevent him from completing his quota if he wanted to.

However, we ought to offer him unsolicited advice and remind him of what is spelled out in the Quran that as a true Muslim husband he would have to be fair to all wives and treat them equally in every respect; emotionally and physically. That’s a tall order!

Anyway, our congratulations to Najib on the marriage which happens to be his third. Records show Najib had divorced his first wife when he married Rosmah.

To Najib, we would say never mind what BERSATU Youth Chief is trying to insinuate. Ignore the fact that he is making use of the wedding news as a means of getting elected within BERSATU. Just be happy with your new wife!
