KOTA KINABALU: Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Women Council Chairperson Joanna Kitingan (pic) has filed a police report, seeking an investigation into alleged insults and disparaging remarks directed towards the Kadazan, Dusun, and Murut (KDM) community's culture and customs.
She made the report at the Penampang police station, Wednesday, after discovering alleged comments posted on Facebook by an individual.
She said it is also a matter that has undermined the dignity of KDM women and the position of the bobolian (traditional ritual leader), who are well-known as a 'momoliansim' (an inherited ancestral belief system of the KDM) expert.
"I have lodged a police report calling for investigations against these individuals as well as a reference to the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commissions," said Joanna, who is also the State-Level Unduk Ngadau Chairperson.
She also said the police report serves as a caution to any party or individual in Sabah not to insult any race or custom that has existed in harmony for hundreds of years.
