Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher insists their title hopes aren't over.

Carragher says Liverpool's title chances aren't over despite dropping two crucial points against Tottenham on Saturday night.

Although Manchester City have the opportunity to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League if they beat Newcastle on Sunday, Carragher said 'it's not lost' for his former club.

Carragher said: "It's not lost. I always thought both team would drop points.

"I always felt this was the real danger game for Liverpool, with the way they play. Son [Heung-min] and [Harry] Kane on the counter-attack, that was proven in the game.

"It was a really good game. Spurs and [Antonio] Conte, they're a proper outfit, they really are. It was always going to be a tough game.

"I don't think today will be a problem [for City, against Newcastle] but I do look at the away games at Wolves and West Ham, I do think Man City will drop points in one of those two games.

"Where Liverpool dropped points, obviously they can afford to do it. Dropping points in two games, possibly not.'

He added on City: "No disrespect to Newcastle, we're talking about them coming here to one of the best teams in world football.

"They [City] had that boost last night. Having the title in their hands, I don't see them slipping up today.

"From a Liverpool point of view, I don't think it's about Manchester City winning. Obviously you want them to drop points.

"The goal difference could come into it if Man City drop points down the line. So if they won 1-0, I'd probably take that!"
