The he Reds have made a bid for the 22-year-old, but does not say the value of the offer.
Paris Saint-Germain are also said to have made an offer to Monaco, but add that Real Madrid is still the player's preferred destination.
It has been claimed that Monaco value Tchouameni at a fee of at least £68million.
