Chicken with Mushrooms in Creamy Sauce (A Western Meal)

Western food is something that most Malaysians enjoy. It could be soups, breads, salads, snacks or even the main meals. The best part of this recipe is that it is a one-pot meal. It’s delicious, easy and fast to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 300 grams chicken breast (marinate with ⅛ teaspoon of salt and black pepper powder)
  • 200 grams fresh mushrooms sliced (champignon)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 pips garlic (chopped)
  • 1 white onion (sliced horizontally)
  • 120 ml fresh cream
  • 50 ml water
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon mixed herbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Take 1 piece of chicken breast and cut it horizontally into 2 pieces. Now rub it with salt and pepper and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Take a wide pan and start by putting in oil and butter together. Once the butter melts, place the 2 chicken pieces. Your flame should be at medium heat.
  3. Pan fry the chicken for 2 minutes on each side. Once it is done, take it out.
  4. Now add chopped garlic and onions and saute for 2 minutes. Here your flame should be at low heat. Add the mushrooms and saute for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add fresh cream and water. Once the liquid starts simmering, add the chicken back into the pan.
  6. Add salt, black pepper and mixed herbs. Close the pan with a lid and let it cook for another 3 minutes. Done! Your Chicken with Mushrooms in Creamy Sauce is ready to be served. Enjoy! Do give it a try today!
