The Telegraph says Henderson was keen on a move to Tyneside, but has been told Newcastle aren't interested.
Toon manager Eddie Howe is happy with his keeper options and is prioritising other positions.
Howe would like find a new central defender and to focus on attacking additions.
Last season, Henderson saw only five appearances with United.
