Qumulo, the leader in large-scale data storage and management, has unveiled a new petabyte-scale archive optimised service that complements Cloud Q as a Service on Azure. Qumulo can now provide a new "Standard" solution with a fixed 1.7 GB/s throughput and exceptional scalability economics thanks to this new serverless storage technology.

The new offering utilises Qumulo’s patented serverless storage technology, which creates efficiency improvements resulting in cloud file storage that is 44% lower cost than competitive file storage solutions on Azure.

“Cloud remains a new frontier for many of the organisations managing massive amounts of data, and Qumulo has prioritised offerings that ease the cloud adoption journey,” said Bill Richter, CEO of Qumulo. “The future of petabyte-scale data is multi-cloud, and Qumulo is proud to be at the forefront of innovation that empowers more organisations to leverage the power of cloud. Qumulo offers a single, consistent experience across any environment from on-premises to multi-cloud, giving our customers the tools they need to manage petabyte-scale data anywhere they need to.”

On Azure, Qumulo is the only petabyte-scale multi-protocol file system. Qumulo simplifies infrastructure management by providing industry-leading assistance across on-premises and cloud environments. As more clients migrate their petabyte-scale workloads to the cloud, Qumulo as a Service on Azure is becoming more popular.

“With Qumulo on Azure, we have the freedom to focus on bringing our clients’ collections to life rather than managing infrastructure and worrying about scale limitations,” said Guy Elsmore-Paddock, Chief Technology Officer of Inveniem. “With Qumulo on Azure we are able to easily create expansive digital databases so we can help our clients find what they need when they need it.”

Qumulo also just announced its Cloud Now program, which allows users to construct proofs of concept up to one petabyte at free expense and with no risk. Customers may use Cloud Now to locate the correct workloads for the cloud and test them faster without having to pay for Qumulo software or cloud storage infrastructure on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or the Google Cloud Platform.
