KUALA LUMPUR – The 2022 PKR election committee has agreed to procure the services of a digital specialist to perform a full audit on the recently concluded party’s election results following feedback from its complaints panel.
In a statement today, committee chairman Zaliha Mustafa said the committee is presently satisfied with the overall progress of the work being done by the digital specialist so far, and expressed confidence that the findings to be presented soon would clear up the misunderstandings and confusion brought up by the complainants.
“As such, the committee will need slightly more time for this purpose before submitting the list of winners of the 2022 PKR elections at the branch, Wanita, and youth wings, as well as at the central level, which have been finalised and made official to the PKR secretary-general’s office.
“This is to ensure the participation of relevant delegates in the party’s national congress,” she said.
She also stated that the party’s election complaints panel will continue to review complaints lodged by party members.
Separately, PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed that the party’s national congress will be postponed to July 16 and 17 at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam, Selangor.
In a brief statement today, Saifuddin said this was intended to give ample time for leadership at the divisional level to fill in necessary positions and to confirm those who would be attending the national congress.
“The PKR Youth Congress, as well as the Wanita congress, will also be held simultaneously on July 15, at IDCC, Shah Alam, Selangor,” he said. – The Vibes, June 10, 2022
