Leeds United are watching Takumi Minamino's situation at Liverpool.

Leeds-Live says Leeds chief Victor Orta will be keeping a close eye on developments at Anfield as Liverpool close in on the signing of Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho.

The Reds tried to sign the 19-year-old in January and made their interest clear, but when the move fell through both club and player looked forward to a summer signing.

Leeds' interest lies in the possibility that Carvalho's arrival will likely open the door to leave for Minamino, who has been linked with a move to Elland Road.

He and Jesse Marsch crossed paths at Red Bull Salzburg in 2019 and the Japan international fits the narrow system, and with 10 goals in 24 games for Liverpool this season, he's proven his pedigree.
