Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has declared Benfica ace Darwin Nunez a "good player".

Jota is aware of Liverpool's push for the Uruguay international and was asked for his impressions.

He told Mais Futebol: "I don't know, I'm focused on the national team. The market will move, I have no idea what the signings could be. I had the opportunity to play against him and he's a good player, but I can't say anything else at the moment."

Liverpool are prepared to pay a club record €100m to land Nunez.

Meanwhile, Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira is reporting the striker will sign a bumper deal at Liverpool until the summer of 2027 and will earn £6.8m a year in wages.
