KOTA KINABALU: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan Nasional (GRS-BN) State Government, Thursday, launched the Sabah State Education Fund (TPNS) – one of the initiatives to develop the education agenda in Sabah.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said, the initiative themed "Sponsorship Opportunity For All", offers a new hope to the people in furthering their education.
He said the establishment of TPNS, which is one of the initiatives in the Yayasan Sabah (YS) Group Strategic Transformation Plan 2015-2023, was created to raise funds to open more sponsorship opportunities for Sabahans who entered higher learning institutions.
“The State Government welcomes the YS Group's initiative in complementing the government’s efforts to develop the education agenda in the State.
“The launch of TPNS is timely, thus proving the State Government's commitment and concern through the YS Group for the future of our young generation.
“The commitment is very much needed especially with the implementation of the first phase of the SMJ Development Plan 1.0 (2021 -2025) in March 2021, which among others makes human capital and the well-being of the people as one of the main thrusts,” he said.
