Watford have announced the release of 27 players following their relegation.

The Hornets returned to the Championship for the second time in three seasons after a miserable campaign in the top flight.

Watford released a statement on Tuesday confirming the departure of four first team players.

They are keeper Ben Foster, defender Nicolas Nkoulou, midfielder Juraj Kucka and forward Andre Gray.

But they have also announced that 19 U23 players and four U18s have been released.

Among those is the son of Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino, Maurizio.

The 21-year-old Spanish winger was a part of the Southampton academy while his dad was in charge of the Saints.

He moved to Tottenham shortly after Mauricio became the head coach in North London.

However, he then made the switch to Watford last year.

The youngster made his debut as a late substitute in May 2021, coming on for Dan Gosling in a 2-0 loss to Brentford in the Championship.
